Adams posted about receiving an official letter from the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), stating that the use of the word "bank" in his company's registered name, "Bankless, LLC," violates relevant regulations. The DFPI has demanded that he change the company name to remove the term "bank."
