TechFlow reported, according to CoinDesk, that the token GEC issued by space technology company Geometric Energy (GEC) has more than quadrupled over the past week. Another token, XI—reportedly used to pay for satellite advertising—rose 36%. Together, their market capitalization exceeds $30 million, with over 6,000 individual holders.
In May 2021, Geometric Energy announced the DOGE-1 satellite project, which will be a payload on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, with the entire mission cost paid in Dogecoin (DOGE).
According to Samuel Reid, founder of Geometric Energy, SpaceX has now obtained the necessary regulatory approvals, bringing DOGE-1 one step closer to realization. DOGE-1 is one of two planned missions related to Dogecoin expected in the coming months.
