Early Bitcoin miners transferred 1,000 bitcoins from the Satoshi era to exchanges and custody platforms this week
On Thursday, on-chain data firm CryptoQuant told CoinDesk in a report that over 1,000 bitcoins from early miners were transferred to exchanges and custodial services on December 4. These tokens were previously moved between August and November 2010—13 years ago—and were mined via block rewards at an estimated total cost of $100. The Satoshi era typically refers to the period when Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, was active on online forums from late 2009 to 2011.
TechFlow reported, citing a Thursday report from on-chain data firm CryptoQuant to CoinDesk, that over 1,000 bitcoins from early miners were transferred to exchanges and custodial services on December 4. These tokens were originally mined via block rewards between August and November 2010—about 13 years ago—and are estimated to have cost $100 in total.
The Satoshi Nakamoto era typically refers to the period when Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, was active on online forums from late 2009 to 2011.
