TechFlow reported, according to Cointelegraph, that Binance founder Changpeng Zhao will pay a $175 million bail and has agreed to return to the United States 14 days before his sentencing on February 23, 2024, which could allow him to return to Dubai. In bail documents filed on November 21 with the U.S. District Court in Seattle, Zhao agreed to share with the court the location where he will reside, and an arrest warrant may be issued if he fails to appear in court. Failure to appear would result in a fine of $250,000 and up to 10 years in prison.
The U.S. is expected to review Zhao’s bail order. If the judge declines to review the order, it will take effect at 5 p.m. Pacific Time on November 27. If the judge grants a review before that date, Zhao must remain in the United States until a decision is made.
