TechFlow news, the Starknet community forum has released important information regarding the next versions (V0.12.3, V0.13.0) and the migration to the Sepolia testnet. The details are as follows:
Updates in version V0.12.3:
- Deprecation of feeder gateways; builders must migrate to API services or run full nodes independently;
- Introduces some changes to the _validate_ function in account contracts.
Updates in version V0.13.0:
- Includes a new transaction type V3, laying the foundation for future features such as paying fees with STRK, fee markets, paymasters, and nonce generalization;
- Comes with a new Cairo version V2.4.0, introducing string literals and basic string operations.
Network upgrade schedule:
- November 19, 2023: V0.12.3 on Goerli testnet;
- December 11, 2023: V0.12.3 on mainnet;
- December 5, 2023: V0.13.0 on Goerli testnet (may be delayed by one week to December 13);
- January 22, 2024: V0.13.0 on mainnet, pending governance vote.
Testnet migration information:
- After deprecating Goerli, Starknet will migrate its testnet to Sepolia;
- The Goerli testnet will remain supported until the end of 2023; developers are advised to migrate to Sepolia as soon as possible;
- Starknet will begin migrating to the Sepolia testnet on November 15, 2023, including full nodes, API services, SDKs, and other development tools.
