TechFlow reports that on-chain sleuth ZachXBT announced on his Telegram channel that Australian cryptocurrency exchange CoinSpot has been hacked, resulting in losses of approximately $2 million.
Two CoinSpot hot wallets appear to have been drained of more than 1,282 ETH within five minutes: in one transaction, 1,262 ETH was transferred from a Coinspot wallet to an assumed attacker's address; in another transaction, 20.99 ETH was sent to the same address.
Data from Etherscan shows that the attacker used Uniswap, THORchain, and WBTC smart contracts to swap the received ETH into Wrapped BTC, USDC, and USDT.
CoinSpot, founded in 2014, had not previously reported any major hacking incidents until now.
