TechFlow news: Bastion, a new cryptocurrency startup founded by a former executive of Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), has obtained two money transmission licenses (MTL) in the U.S. states of New Hampshire and Arkansas.
These are the company's first two licenses, enabling it to offer services involving digital assets as alternative currencies in these two states.
Meanwhile, an increasing number of crypto-related companies have acquired MTLs, including Coinbase, Jack Dorsey's Block, and MoonPay. In July 2023, Elon Musk's X payments subsidiary also obtained an MTL.
