TechFlow News: Ripple Labs, in collaboration with Hong Kong's Fubon Bank, will unveil test results of their real estate tokenization project at next week's FinTech Week.
Ross Edwards, Senior Director of Customer Solutions and Head of CBDC Partnerships for Asia-Pacific at Ripple, said they are testing various use cases to experience the efficiency of decentralization and tokenization. He emphasized the importance of connectivity across different use cases, user engagement, and maintaining sovereignty and stability. This initiative aims to demonstrate the utility value of the digital Hong Kong dollar. To date, the project remains under evaluation by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
Ripple's Rahul Advani added that currently there is no applicable license in Hong Kong for their business operations.
Brooks Entwistle, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, stated they will explore additional application scenarios within a compliant framework, including cross-border payments.
