TechFlow news — On October 17, according to CoinDesk, Uniswap Labs will begin charging a 0.15% fee on certain token swaps, including ETH and USDC, starting Tuesday. Only swap transactions executed through the Uniswap Labs frontend will be subject to this fee.
This fee is distinct from Uniswap's existing "protocol fee," which is managed by governance voters. According to a blog post, Uniswap Labs is introducing this fee to "sustainably fund our operations."
In a tweet, Uniswap founder Hayden Adams said: "This interface fee is one of the lowest in the industry, enabling us to continue researching, developing, building, shipping, improving, and expanding cryptocurrency and DeFi."
Affected tokens include ETH, USDC, WETH, USDT, DAI, WBTC, agEUR, GUSD, LUSD, EUROC, and XSGD. Swaps between stablecoins, as well as between Ethereum and wrapped Ethereum, are not affected.
