TechFlow news — asset management firm VanEck announced the upcoming launch of the VanEck Ethereum Strategy ETF (EFUT).
Notably, this is an actively managed ETF. EFUT does not directly invest in ETH or other digital assets; instead, it seeks capital appreciation by investing in ETH futures contracts. EFUT will be listed on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and will be actively managed by Greg Krenzer, VanEck's head of active trading.
VanEck stated that the fund will invest in standardized, cash-settled ETH futures contracts traded on commodity exchanges registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Currently, the only ETH futures the fund intends to invest in are those traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
