TechFlow news — On September 9, Cosmos Hub announced that Community Proposal #821 has been approved. Cosmos Hub will perform its v12 upgrade at block 16985500, expected to occur on September 13 at 20:04:31 UTC. The v12 upgrade will activate the Liquid Staking Module (LSM), designed to replace the existing staking, distribution, and slashing modules. This aims to improve network liquidity and unlock millions of dollars worth of ATOM tokens for use in DeFi activities across chains within the Cosmos ecosystem.
Cosmos Hub noted that during the v12 upgrade, the network will experience a brief downtime, and transactions and transfers may be delayed. However, the downtime is expected to be minimal.
