TechFlow news: Starknet community member Ilia Volokh has proposed the Simple Decentralized Protocol Proposal, aiming to enable the community to initiate a simple and complete decentralized Starknet protocol candidate. This proposal seeks maximum simplification of the protocol under the assumption that more than 2/3 of staked tokens are held by honest participants. The simplified protocol will primarily consist of four key components:
1. Proof-of-stake-based leader election to determine the block proposer schedule;
2. A Tendermint-style consensus protocol enabling the network of proposers to reach agreement on each block;
3. A chained proof mechanism requiring each proposer to prove the previous block, ensuring decentralized proof validation;
4. Periodic L1 state updates to regularly roll up L2 states to L1 while aggregating the chained proofs.
