TechFlow news — Coin Metrics co-founder Nic Carter posted a tweet stating that in a few years, the idea of wanting to slow down AI progress will seem very strange, as AI will become the primary driving force behind the most significant innovation boom in human history.
He believes those who fear catastrophic risks from AI lack imagination and fail to recognize that more advanced AI will bring unprecedented human prosperity, and that attempting to halt AI development is unethical.
He added that he has read most of the literature on AI risks and acknowledges such risks exist, but they are manageable, and the benefits will vastly outweigh the potential downsides.
