TechFlow news: friend.tech founder Racer issued an apology statement, admitting that his previous remarks restricting users from using cloned and山寨 versions of the app stemmed from fear and zero-sum thinking.
He said he was afraid of letting people down, afraid that his golden era had passed, and afraid he wasn't fit for his role. This fear led him to exhibit zero-sum thinking in his prior statements, advising people not to use other products. He called this a foolish remark—essentially telling friends not to have fun, and making potential partners feel like they were seen only as competitors.
He acknowledged that this goes against the open culture of the crypto space and expressed deep regret.
In closing, he encouraged everyone to live as they wish and promised not to make such hasty remarks again.
Earlier today, friend.tech tweeted: "We expect clone versions and other types of replicas of friend.tech will emerge. To ensure loyal users are fairly rewarded during our testing phase, users who switch to forks or clone versions will automatically opt out of earning points and forfeit their existing points in order to continue using the application."
