TechFlow news: FTX tweeted that Kroll, the claims agent handling its bankruptcy proceedings, recently experienced a cybersecurity incident resulting in unauthorized access to non-sensitive information of certain creditors pending resolution.
FTX stated that the incident occurred on Kroll's side and did not affect FTX's own systems. User account passwords were not stored with Kroll, and therefore were not compromised. Kroll has directly notified affected individuals and advised them to remain vigilant against phishing emails related to the bankruptcy process.
Kroll has confirmed to FTX that the security incident was promptly contained and remediated. FTX is closely monitoring the situation. This data breach once again highlights the importance of information security within the crypto industry.
