TechFlow news — Jason Choi, founder of Tangent, tweeted that when seed investors say a project is "too early" for them, they don't mean the company is at an early stage. Rather, they believe the market the company is targeting is unlikely to emerge within the next 3–5 years.
Choi analyzed that in early-stage companies and nascent markets, first-mover advantage is often misunderstood. The key isn't who enters the market first, but who achieves product-market fit first. Otherwise, Ether Delta would be bigger than DyDx, Bancor would have outperformed Uniswap, Namecoin would still exist, and CryptoKitties would be the largest NFT project.
