TechFlow reports, according to 23pds, Chief Information Security Officer at SlowMist, that WinRAR software has a remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2023-40477). Attackers can exploit this vulnerability via malicious web pages or documents to execute code. Once a user's computer is infected with a backdoor program, hackers can gain remote control over the device.
Cryptocurrency users who use WinRAR should immediately update their software version to prevent losses. Additionally, be cautious of fake "WinRAR vulnerability detection tools," which are actually phishing websites—do not click on suspicious links.
