TechFlow news: StarkNet recently announced the upcoming release of version 0.12.1 next week, which will enhance mainnet transaction efficiency as part of the second phase of StarkNet's "Quantum Leap" initiative.
Currently, invalid transactions on StarkNet consume computational resources without requiring fee payments. The new version will introduce a validation phase prior to ordering, filtering out invalid transactions. Failed transactions will be marked as "revoked" and will require fee payments. Additionally, the centralized sequencer node will add a validation phase to reject invalid transactions before execution.
StarkNet stated that this move will optimize sequencer resource utilization and improve efficiency by early filtering and charging fees for failed transactions. For specific protocol and API layer changes, refer to StarkNet's official detailed announcement.
