TechFlow reports that cryptocurrency venture capital firm Outlier Ventures and artificial intelligence metaverse company Futureverse have launched an accelerator program to help startups build applications designed for the open metaverse. The two companies said in a statement that Futureverse Base Camp is a 12-week accelerator program that will provide participating startups with $100,000 in development funding to support building on the Root Network—the "public decentralized blockchain network optimized for metaverse applications and experiences" developed by Futureverse. According to a person familiar with the matter, in addition to mentorship from Outlier and Futureverse, 6 to 10 startups will be selected to receive a total of between $600,000 and $1 million in funding.
The program is expected to launch in January 2024.
