TechFlow reports, according to blocktempo, that Akimoto Yasushi, the renowned producer known as the father of Japan's ultra-popular girl groups such as AKB and Sakamichi series, has announced the launch of a new Web3 idol group called "Idol 3.0 Project." The project began in March this year, selecting 114 girls from 10,000 applicants. These 114 candidates will undergo various training and auditions, with 9 to 11 final members chosen by year-end to debut under a brand-new girl group name.
The Idol 3.0 Project will issue Nippon Idol Token (NIDT) to fans worldwide. The total supply of the token is 1 billion, with 300 million issued during the initial IEO phase. The IEO was completed in April with assistance from Coinbook and DMM Bitcoin.
