TechFlow news — The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced it has awarded more than $104 million to seven whistleblowers whose information and assistance contributed to the success of SEC enforcement actions and related actions by another agency.
This amount is the fourth-largest in the history of the SEC's whistleblower program. The seven recipients consist of two groups of joint whistleblowers and three individual whistleblowers, each of whom provided tips that either prompted the SEC to open investigations or significantly contributed to ongoing investigations.
The individuals' assistance to staff included providing documents that helped substantiate allegations of misconduct, participating in interviews, and identifying potential witnesses.
