TechFlow reports, Kenya's Ministry of Interior released a statement on its Facebook page announcing that the Kenyan government has suspended operations of Worldcoin, an identity-based cryptocurrency protocol co-founded by OpenAI's Sam Altman.
The statement highlighted concerns over the organization named "WORLD COIN" conducting citizen registration activities through collecting eye/iris data. Relevant financial, security, and data protection authorities have initiated investigations into the project's legality and data protection practices to determine compliance with applicable laws.
