TechFlow news, July 29 — Christine Kim, Vice President of Research at Galaxy, summarized the 114th Ethereum Core Developers Consensus Layer (ACDC) meeting. The discussion focused on the progress of the Deneb testnet. Devnet #8 is expected to launch later next week or early the following week. Ethereum Foundation researcher Hsiao-Wei Wang is preparing a new version of the CL specification code for Devnet #8, which will be ready for client teams by July 31.
In addition, the next Consensus Layer (CL) upgrade, Electra, may consider incorporating two EIPs. EIP-6914 introduces code changes that allow reuse of validator indices from validators who have fully exited the beacon chain, reducing computational load on CL nodes. EIP-6110 adds new validator deposits directly into EL blocks, shifting deposit processing and validation responsibilities from the CL to the EL, thereby enhancing deposit security and improving the validator user experience.
