TechFlow reported, according to BeInCrypto, that Colin Shaftesley, Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSII), revealed the institute will launch a series of training programs and seminars on virtual assets in the coming months. Meanwhile, two webinars have already been scheduled in the HKSII calendar: one on how digital assets coexist within traditional financial IT infrastructures, and another on digital assets for portfolio management.
On June 1, the new licensing regime for Hong Kong's Virtual Asset Trading Platforms (VATP) came into effect. On the same day, HKSII posted on its website's latest updates stating it is working closely with its Examination Committee and Education & Development Committee. Additionally, a Virtual Asset Working Group has been established to assist in developing corresponding CPT programs and examinations to support market practitioners under the new licensing framework. Detailed information about the upcoming exams and training programs will be released shortly. Many applicants for the new HKSII programs have expressed interest in careers as cryptocurrency traders.
HKSII is a key licensing body in Hong Kong’s financial services industry and maintains close ties with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), responsible for providing training and licensing exams for brokers and asset managers in Hong Kong.
