TechFlow news: Japanese gaming giant Sega has announced it is stepping away from the blockchain space following the collapse of the global cryptocurrency industry. Sega co-CEO Shuji Utsumi said the company behind franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog and Yakuza will withhold its major IPs from third-party blockchain gaming projects to prevent devaluation of its content. The company has also put on hold plans to develop its own blockchain games. Utsumi added, "The play-to-earn gaming trend is dull—what's the point if the game isn't fun?"
