TechFlow news — On June 30, U.S. District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton for the Northern District of California issued a class certification order confirming that U.S. investors have the right to seek legal recourse. This decision was made in the class-action lawsuit filed by Zakinov against Ripple Labs Inc.
The lead plaintiff claims that Ripple violated federal and state laws by failing to register its digital asset XRP as a security. According to reports, the judge's order enables tens of thousands of XRP purchasers to collectively sue Ripple, its subsidiary XRP II, and CEO Bradley Garlinghouse for securities-related losses.
