TechFlow News — Astar Network, a Polkadot parachain, announced on Twitter that its primary development team, Startale Labs, has secured a $3.5 million investment from Sony Network Communications Inc., a subsidiary of Sony, to accelerate global Web3 adoption. This collaboration will advance the development of Startale's Web3 services and products, with a focus on connecting real-world assets to the Web3 ecosystem.
To achieve this goal, the partnership will involve creating integrated solutions for Web3 application development and facilitating the integration of real-world assets into the Web3 ecosystem. The investment also includes a key appointment: Jun Watanabe, President and Representative Director of Sony Network Communications, will join Startale Labs as a director.
Previously, Astar Network and Sony Network Communications successfully co-hosted a Web3 incubation program. Notably, Sota Watanabe, founder of Astar Network, also serves as CEO of Startale Labs. Astar Network is Japan's leading multi-virtual-machine Layer 1 blockchain network, while Startale Labs forms part of its core development team.
