TechFlow reports that Ethereum researcher and proposal supporter Michael Neuder introduced a new proposal regarding validator balance caps during the recent Ethereum core developer consensus meeting.
According to the report, he suggested increasing the maximum validator balance per validator from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH.
While the current 32 ETH validator cap promotes decentralization, it has inadvertently led to bloating of the validator set size. Neuder stated that raising the cap could slow the expansion of the active validator set and improve network efficiency in achieving finality within a single Ethereum slot. The proposal would also enable the possibility of automatically compounding validator rewards.
