TechFlow reported on May 24 that Binance CEO CZ stated on social media that CCTV (China Central Television) has just broadcast news about cryptocurrency. "This is a big deal," he said. "The Chinese community is buzzing." According to the report, CCTV-2's Economic Information Daily aired coverage of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission announcing the mandatory licensing regime for virtual asset trading platforms effective June 1.
In the CCTV footage, an image of Samo, a meme token from the Solana ecosystem, appeared. Following the broadcast, the price of $SAMO surged by as much as 500%, and currently remains up by 300%. Samo's NFTs also rose by 300%.
