TechFlow news: Fred Wilson, partner at U.S. venture capital firm USV (Union Square Ventures), published a new article titled "The Freedom to Innovate." He stated, "In 2014, USV was summoned by the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) due to our Web3 investment activities. In front of DFS staff, I said that what distinguishes the U.S. from China is that the U.S. respects the freedom to innovate—anything banned in China becomes an investment opportunity for us."
"Yesterday, during our quarterly LP call at USV, we were asked whether regulatory pressure on Web3 in the U.S. would lead us to reduce our Web3 investments. I responded that when they attempt to ban it, I will double down. The most powerful technologies send waves of fear through institutions, and when you see that fear in their eyes, you should invest in the very things causing it."
