TechFlow news — At the "Web3 Technology Infrastructure: Layer 2 Networks" forum during the 2023 Hong Kong Web3 Festival, NanFeng, Co-Founder and CEO of decentralized ZK-RaaS platform Opside, delivered a keynote speech titled "The Opportunities and Challenges of RaaS."
NanFeng stated that public blockchain development has now evolved from the multi-chain era into the multi-Rollup era. Rollups better inherit the security and decentralization of Layer 1 blockchains while offering higher performance, lower gas fees, and compatibility with multiple platforms such as zkEVM.
As a platform focused on ZK-RaaS, Opside has designed a three-layer architecture consisting of a base chain, based rollups, and a decentralized prover to address existing Rollup challenges—including dependence on underlying L1s, lack of application sovereignty, data availability layer limitations, insufficient security and decentralization, and the need for projects to independently build their own ZKP computing capabilities. Opside has also innovatively introduced a hybrid consensus mechanism combining PoS and PoW.
NanFeng added that Opside has secured a $4 million seed funding round. Currently, the project is progressing steadily according to its latest technical roadmap. Opside will launch its Pre-Alpha testnet in Q2 this year, while continuing to lay the groundwork for its three-layer architecture and ecosystem development, with plans to officially launch the mainnet next year.
