TechFlow news — On the evening of March 31, Justin Sun, founder of TRON and member of Huobi Global Advisory Council, announced on Twitter that his term as Grenada's Permanent Representative and Ambassador Extraordinary to the World Trade Organization (WTO) ended on March 31, 2023. Over the coming months, he will focus on transitioning responsibilities related to this role. Justin Sun also stated that after a period of rest, he plans to continue his public service career, with a particular focus on digital economy and cryptocurrency regulation.
Justin Sun said: "Since assuming office in November 2021, I have had the privilege of representing Grenada at the WTO and working alongside an outstanding professional team. Together, we made significant progress across various areas, from negotiations to policy advocacy. A highlight of my tenure was serving as head of Grenada’s delegation at the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC12). I had the opportunity to speak at the conference and discuss trade issues with representatives from around the world. Through these interactions, I gained valuable insights and perspectives on the global trade landscape."
In his tweet, Justin Sun also stated, "I would like to reaffirm Grenada’s commitment to the multilateral trading system and our desire to see a modern, transparent, and inclusive WTO that addresses the development interests of all members, especially developing countries and least-developed countries."
Finally, Justin Sun expressed sincere gratitude to all WTO members, partners, colleagues, and particularly to WTO Director-General Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for their support and collaboration during his term.
