TechFlow news — Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko has published a post outlining plans to improve the network upgrade process, including enhancing Solana's upgrade procedures, forming an adversarial team, improving restart processes, and maintaining a continued focus on stability.
The proposed improvements by Solana core engineers are as follows:
1. Downgrade the testnet to the current mainnet-beta version and feature set prior to mainnet-beta upgrades;
2. Upgrade the testnet to the new release candidate version;
3. Observe how the testnet migration proceeds in real time;
4. Downgrade the testnet back to the current mainnet-beta version;
5. Repeat this process while conducting stress tests on the testnet;
6. Release the new version for mainnet-beta validators to upgrade.
