TechFlow News, according to DeFi Llama data, the total value of crypto assets deposited into liquid staking protocols has reached $14.1 billion.
Ethereum's upcoming Shanghai upgrade will allow stakers to withdraw their staked ETH and accumulated rewards for the first time, fueling investor interest in liquid staking. Liquid Staking has been the top-performing crypto sector this year, with total value locked (TVL) increasing nearly 60%.
By enabling withdrawals, the upgrade is expected to improve overall liquidity. Since December 2020, more than 16.5 million ETH have been staked on Ethereum's Beacon Chain.
Liquid staking is expected to grow further, as Ethereum's staking ratio—the percentage of the cryptocurrency's supply that is staked—remains significantly lower than other Layer 1 cryptocurrencies. Binance Research recently shared a similar view, predicting increased capital inflows into staking protocols following the Shanghai upgrade.Original link
