TechFlow News According to Yahoo Finance, investment crowdfunding platform Republic stated that its metaverse real estate fund, Republic Realm, launched in March 2021, has been shut down and canceled following feedback received from the SEC as well as recent regulatory developments.
Reportedly, Republic Realm was initially available only to a select group of accredited investors and quickly reached its maximum subscription cap of $75 million. The fund focused on purchasing NFT virtual real estate in platforms such as Sandbox, Axie Infinity, and Decentraland, intending to hold these assets long-term to generate real estate-like "rental" income and provide ongoing returns to the fund.
