TechFlow reports that FTX Group said Sunday it is sending "confidential letters" to politicians, other political beneficiaries of SBF, his associates, and his companies, demanding they return political donations received from SBF by the end of the month. In a press release, the debtors stated they reserve the right to pursue litigation to enforce repayment, including interest.
Before FTX collapsed in November last year, SBF donated tens of millions of dollars to political candidates. According to the debtors' estimates, FTX made up to $93 million in political contributions to numerous members of Congress across party lines, with one-third of current U.S. congressional members having accepted funding from SBF.
Now, as senior FTX executives face multiple criminal charges related to alleged multi-billion-dollar fraud, many recipients are attempting to mitigate scandal by making equivalent donations to charities. However, the debtors warned that such actions "will not stop the FTX debtors from seeking recovery."Source
