TechFlow News, November 21 — Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin recently said in an interview with The Straits Times that Singapore's well-intentioned attempts at cryptocurrency regulation may not work, as the country’s regulators are trying to separate "blockchain use" from "cryptocurrencies." He stated, “Without cryptocurrencies, the blockchains you have are fake—nobody will care about them.” Additionally, Vitalik Buterin noted that it is extremely difficult for regulators to strike a balance between supporting new technologies and cracking down on bad actors. However, he acknowledged that Singapore positioned itself early as a crypto-friendly jurisdiction, only beginning to tighten regulations in recent months. Still, the authorities are merely attempting to “curb crypto speculation,” rather than banning cryptocurrencies outright.Original link
