TechFlow news — A senior official said Afghanistan's central bank has implemented a nationwide ban on cryptocurrency this month, with the Taliban regime arresting several traders who ignored orders to cease digital token transactions.
Sayed Shah Saadaat, head of criminal investigations at Herat Police Headquarters, stated, "The central bank ordered us to stop all money changers, individuals, and merchants from trading fraudulent digital currencies such as what is commonly known as Bitcoin." According to Saadaat, 13 people have been arrested, most of whom have been released on bail, while more than 20 crypto-related businesses in Herat—the country's third-largest city and a hub for digital token trading—have been shut down.
Yesterday's report indicated that Afghanistan has closed 16 cryptocurrency trading platforms.Original link
