TechFlow news — Web3 gaming platform Soba has announced the completion of a $13.5 million funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from FTX Ventures, Cherry Ventures, Point Nine Capital, TQ Ventures, and gaming creators including Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, Tim “ClashwithAsh” Evans, and Alvaro “Alvaro845” González de Buitrago.
Soba's vision is to build the most inclusive virtual world, where anyone can express their ultimate creativity through game creation. Its mission is to inspire and empower more players to become creators. On Soba, creators can build their own games by adding and configuring elements created by others or by visually creating custom logic—without needing to know any programming languages. It enables creators to build various types of games in many different styles. Soba is free to use and runs on mobile devices, PC, and Mac, with support for additional platforms planned in the future.
To create the best possible environment for creators, Soba is integrating blockchain elements and steadily transitioning toward Web3. Through Web3, Soba will enable creators and players to own NFTs and other digital assets, and allow them to transfer these digital assets into other projects or bring assets from other projects into Soba.
