TechFlow news, BUD has completed a $36.8 million Series B funding round led by Sequoia Capital India. ClearVue Partners, NetEase, Northern Light Venture Capital, GGV Capital,启明创投 and Source Code Capital also participated in this round.
BUD plans to launch a marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to further enhance user experience. BUD declined to disclose which blockchain the NFT project will be built on or what tokens it will use, but said the marketplace will go live "soon".
BUD is an emerging app designed to create a virtual world where Gen Z users can play and interact with each other. Founded in 2019 by two former Snap engineers, Risa Feng and Shawn Lin, BUD enables users to create spherical 3D avatars, cute virtual assets, and vibrant experiences through simple drag-and-drop actions—no coding required.
