TechFlow news, April 20 — According to Bloomberg, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) said he hopes to fix the "broken model" of social media through blockchain technology.
SBF stated that traditional social media platforms form a highly chaotic system with no interoperability between different platforms—for example, tweets cannot be viewed on Facebook, and messages from Facebook cannot be read on WhatsApp. Like Musk, SBF sees censorship as a major issue. He believes creating a system where social media platforms can draw fundamental data from the same source could help resolve problems plaguing social media, ranging from basic user experience to freedom of speech.
When asked whether he had spoken with Musk, SBF replied: "I haven't talked to Musk directly about this, but I'd be happy to."
