TechFlow News — Block Tackle, a metaverse gaming studio, has raised $5 million in seed funding led by Play Ventures and Cadenza Ventures, with participation from Animoca Brands, Coinbase Ventures, Solana Ventures, and others.
Block Tackle was co-founded by Rob Oshima and Ben Topkins, who previously helped develop games such as The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth and Fast & Furious: Legacy. The studio's first project will be SkateX, a game that allows players to purchase skateboard NFTs and vote on game-related decisions. SkateX is set to launch a series of 3D animated skateboard NFTs in April.
