TechFlow News, Parity has just released the largest update to date for ink!, a Rust-based programming language used to write WebAssembly (Wasm) smart contracts. Developers in the Polkadot and Substrate ecosystems can use ink! to build efficient, high-performance smart contracts and decentralized applications for Wasm virtual machines—serving as an alternative to Ethereum's EVM/Solidity smart contracts.
In addition to launching ink! 3.0, the team has improved the Contracts pallet to enhance parachain performance and introduced new features that improve cross-contract calls and overall efficiency, making it easier for developers to implement more complex logic. Finally, with the release of `cargo-contract` 1.0, there are also changes to developer tools.
