TechFlow news — On March 9, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao said in an interview with the Financial Times that Binance is looking to acquire businesses outside the crypto industry that operate in traditional markets. Previously, the company announced the acquisition of Forbes magazine.
"We want to invest in one or two targets in each sector of the economy and try to bring them into the crypto space," Zhao said, adding that pushing a company in industries such as media to adopt cryptocurrency will increase competition and force other existing players to follow suit.
However, Zhao also stated that he does not aim to turn Binance into a "conglomerate," but rather to help the company build infrastructure that integrates digital assets into existing industries, making the crypto industry larger.
