TechFlow News — According to Bloomberg, on December 27, Binance received in-principle approval from the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) to become a licensed crypto-asset service provider in the Kingdom. On the same day, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao announced on Twitter that Binance has obtained licensing to provide crypto services in Canada.
Industry insiders noted that the CBB's move makes it the first regulator in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to grant in-principle approval to a Binance entity, with Binance expected to complete the full application process in due course. Meanwhile, according to documents filed by Binance, Binance Canada Capital Markets was registered on December 24 as a Money Services Business (MSB), authorized to conduct foreign exchange trading, money transfers, and virtual currency transactions. The license is valid until December 31, 2024.
