TechFlow News — On December 15, the decentralized autonomous organization ConstitutionDAO announced it would renounce ownership of ConstitutionDAO. ConstitutionDAO stated that it will refund donations to those who directly contributed to ConstitutionDAO and those who donated on Juicebox after the auction, and will convert its Discord community to read-only mode. Users who donated to Juicebox before the auction but have not yet redeemed their ETH can still choose to either hold their tokens or redeem them at a rate of 1 ETH = 1,000,000 PEOPLE.
The ConstitutionDAO multisig will execute the "renounceOwnership" function in the Juicebox smart contract, permanently destroying the multisig's access rights. After renouncing ownership, the ConstitutionDAO core team and multisig signers will no longer have any authority or control over the contract in any form. The ownership renouncement will take place between Friday, December 17, 2021, at 8:00 PM through December 20, Eastern Standard Time. The Discord server will be shut down by 8:00 PM Eastern Time on December 21, 2021. A formal announcement regarding this event will follow subsequently.
