TechFlow News According to the Beijing Daily, to accelerate the development of digital RMB payment infrastructure for the Beijing Winter Olympics and in conjunction with the 2021 Beijing Consumption Season, Beijing has launched a digital RMB pilot program titled "Jingcai Strivers: Digital Carnival." Jointly organized by Beijing's sub-center, Dongcheng District, Chaoyang District, Haidian District, Shijingshan District, and Yanqing District, the "Jingcai" campaign will distribute 200,000 digital RMB "Jingcai" red packets through the "Jingcai Platform" to consumers who successfully register and are selected via lottery.
Each "Jingcai" red packet contains 200 yuan and can be used without minimum spending requirements at nearly 2,000 designated merchants across the city. The "Jingcai Platform" officially opened on June 5, 2021, allowing consumers to access and register via the mobile banking apps of Bank of China or Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. The usage period for the digital RMB "Jingcai" red packets runs from June 11 to June 20. Centered on the theme of promoting the "striver" spirit, the "Jingcai" campaign focuses on scenarios related to food, accommodation, transportation, tourism, shopping, entertainment, and communications for the Beijing Winter Olympics, offering digital RMB consumption experiences across multiple core commercial districts in the city.
