From the live-streamed trial, it was revealed that from June 2015 to early 2019, defendant Wen Botao operated websites including www.dilidili.com under his company’s name, copying anime content from other anime websites to D站 for free streaming and download. Meanwhile, he profited illegally by selling advertising space on D站. Ultimately, the Xuhui District People's Court ruled in the first instance: Wen Botao was sentenced to three years and three months in prison for copyright infringement and fined 1 million RMB.
Media reports indicate that D站 previously raised $2.15 million through an IEO on the Gate exchange, issuing the cryptocurrency dili. Its current price is $0.00012, down 91% from its initial offering price.
