TechFlow news — PayPal has started offering cryptocurrency purchasing services to select U.S. users. Users must verify their SSN (Social Security Number) and set up a PayPal Cash account to complete purchases.
Users can currently buy four cryptocurrencies on PayPal: BTC, ETH, BCH, and LTC, with a minimum purchase amount of $1.
PayPal charges transaction fees and currency conversion fees when buying or selling cryptocurrencies. Holding cryptocurrencies incurs no fees.
Currently, users can only hold cryptocurrencies purchased on PayPal within their personal PayPal accounts and cannot transfer them to external wallets or other accounts.
Notably, PayPal will not provide private keys to users. Cryptocurrency sales are subject to review and may be delayed or suspended if issues are detected.
