TechFlow news: At the ninth China Payment and Clearing Forum on September 24, Liao Jinrong, Director of the International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, introduced efforts to combat cross-border gambling crimes. He revealed that in terms of criminal methods, some gambling-related gangs are using virtual currencies to collect and transfer illicit funds. These new digital currency channels are unfreezable, anonymous, and difficult to trace, posing significant challenges to law enforcement. He expressed hope that financial regulators would work with public security authorities to develop specialized measures targeting the use of virtual currencies for cross-border gambling fund transfers.
